Who are the attending romance authors?
At Wild and Windy Book Event, you can find the lineup banners in the attendee groups for each location: Vegas, Chicago, and New Orleans. There is also a list of attending authors separated by location on the website.
How do I find out if the attending authors write the type of romance books that I like?
You can scroll through the attending author page on the website for each location. Beneath each author’s photo or logo, there is a link to their Amazon author page. Their author page contains their bio and lists all their books. At Wild and Windy Book Event, we try to include at least a few authors that write the same types of books. For instance, at the Vegas event, we have several authors who write dark romance: Shantel Tessier, Leigh Rivers and C.R. Jane
If you discover that the lineup has several authors you would like to meet, your next step is to purchase a ticket. The Vegas 2026 location is nearly sold out, but you can still purchase tickets on wildandwindybookevent.com
What do I do after I have my ticket?
Plan. Plan what books to bring from home or if you prefer special editions, go to the author page on the website for the location you are attending and click their preorder button to see if they have any special editions.
Where do I pick up my special editions?
You pick them up at the author’s table inside the signing room.
How do I know where they are located?
About 2 weeks out from each event, we provide an attendee packet that has a signing room seating chart, a venue diagram, and tells you which authors will be wristbanded.
What is a wristband? And where do I get it?
Authors who are very popular or who have a lot of preorders will be wristbanded. When you get inside the signing room, go straight to your favorite authors tables and gets wristbands for them. The wristbands have the authors names on them. They are color coded and numbered. Your attendee packet will have a link to the wristband doc. The doc will tell you when your number is up so you can go the author’s table, get in a short line of 10-12, and wait your turn to meet the author and get your books signed. If you preordered books, the author will have them waiting for you at their table.
What do I do while waiting for my number to be up?
Visit other authors. They have beautiful banners at their tables and books for you to look at and you just might discover a new favorite author.
What else is there to do at a multi-day romance book con like Wild and Windy Book Event?
There is bookish vendor shopping, friendship bracelet trading, bookish games like spicy bingo, romance author romance reader mixers, romance author narrator panels, (question and answer sessions featuring your favorite romance authors that take audience questions too) and themed parties. At Vegas 2026, the party is a gothic gala. At New Orleans, it’s a Mardi Gras Masquerade. At Chicago, if you are a VIP, there is a luau party and a pajama party.
